At the Highlands Music Festival, many did plan ahead and made neighborhood street parking look easy. They used a drop off point at the gate that we provided for groups that drove to the event together. That was a big success because we are accustomed to some times using designated drivers. Many were from the neighborhood all the way down to Sunnyside and took a walk to the event together. and some walking from nearby homes. We saw everything from mountain bikes to limousines. For the bike riders we had (and Colores will have) an area for bike storage. Some used Lyft or Uber. We will have a Lyft station for drop off and transportation as well. Just have to plan ahead. Thanks!
Feel free to review a photo testimony of highlights from the 2017 Highlands Music Festival and we think that you'll agree ... just click on the images below.
Colores will be held in a residential neighborhood setting. Generally, parking will be street parking around the venue. Disabled guests will be provided with on site parking on the East side parking lot area. If you are, or have a disabled person in a wheel chair or similar situation, please call 303-273-5555 and get on the disability parking list otherwise there may not be accommodations available for this.
PLEASE PLAN AHEAD as many people from the area have. Many will be starting early and understand they will be using neighborhood street parking. All that we need to do is plan ahead in much the same way that Bronco fans would do for a Bronco's home game. This is the same approach ... plan ahead. If we look at this new neighborhood national act event approach, this is the one area to understand and plan for, however, rest assured that the experience is worth the effort as we saw at the 2017 Highlands Music Festival. Many didn't even notice any inconvenience because of parking.

The awards presentations will be separate from Colores and be by invitation at a pre-Colores event dinner gathering on the evening of Friday, June 8th. The gathering will be open to the public with awards event and dinner tickets available starting March 1, 2018.
In 2018, the RMPA music and community awards will be incorporated with the Colores Music Festival. Accordingly, the music and community awards theme as well as elements of the awards program will be incorporated into the Colores event promotion and event.
As our community vision grew, our awards focus expanded to include parents and community leaders whose work and contributions have a positive impact in the lives of people in the community with an emphasis on youth. Now a 24-year old tradition, we have continued the work through our efforts in producing events that provide artists with performance and promotional opportunities as well as through the annual RMPA Music Awards and a social justice, faith, and community leadership awards program.

Is there an age requirement?
The Colores Music Festival is an adult friendly, family accessible event. Colores will be held during daylight hours, however, youth under 18  must be accompanied by an adult because of alcohol being sold/served.
My friend and I are single moms ...
I have two teenagers and she has two, we would like to go to one of the events and take our kids. It may not seem like a lot, but for us, this is expensive. Is there a group rate or discount for families that can make it easier for us to come?
This is a new type of event approach that brings national, regional and the best local entertainment we can find and bring it into a neighborhood setting. The point of it is to bring opportunities like this right to your doorstep and we want everybody that wants to attend to be able to without financially challenging them to do so; single moms and dads and the disabled especially. We will do whatever we can to make sure that that can happen on a case by case basis. All you have to do is call us at 303-273-5555 or 720-300-9054 to make an arrangement. Thanks for asking.
There are directions at the place where you bought your tickets that ask you to go to Myra’s Hair Salon at 3141 Federal Blvd to pick up your tickets. Simply present your Paypal receipt (printed or show on phone) and an ID and you will receive hard copy tickets.

This is outdoor, will there be chairs to sit on?
There will be very limited chair seating in the disabled area and in the back of the seating area near Federal Boulevard, however, we highly recommend that guests NOT count on this and ask all guests to bring your concert lawn chairs. This includes VIP guests.
I bought VIP tickets, do I need to bring a concert chair?
Yes, we made a decision to keep VIP seating simple and priced VIP accordingly at only $10 above the General Admission price. The only advantage for VIP guests is their seating location area which is directly in front of the stage ... it's the best seating.

We will be in a contained space, but will not oversell this event beyond the capacity that we have been given to work with. This is a new type of event, your patience and cooperation makes it all work. All that we need to do is plan ahead in much the same way that one would do for a home Bronco's game. The experience is worth the effort.
The past event format for the RMPA Music and Community Social Justice Awards presentations will change for 2018. Instead of a dinner and ballroom dance, the awards will be incorporated into the Colores Music Festival and unfold over two days. A smaller scale awards dinner gathering is planned for the evening of  Friday, June 8th  and honorees will also be
celebrated at the Colores event on Saturday, June 9th. The awards dinner presentations will be by invitation at a pre-Colores event dinner gathering on the evening of Friday, June 8th, however, the gathering will also be open to family, friends, and the community with awards event dinner tickets available for purchase at this site starting March 1, 2018.

National, regional, and local entertainment in a neighborhood setting. Some have called it a "Block Party On Steroids." Colores will offer legendary artists, Grammy Award winners, and some of Denver's best.
It is a music festival effort whose vision is to combine legendary Old School artists and Grammy Award winners with regional and local Denver artists and offer them in a Denver neighborhood setting.
