A CELEBRATION OF LA GENTE AND LATINO TRADITION
Bienvenidos y gracias for visiting the Colores Project. We are pleased to introduce you to the Colores Project and it's vision. As people and communities continue to navigate their way past a period of great turmoil, challenge, and loss, we clearly see that this time of hardship and turbulence have had the effect of bringing people to a significantly heightened interest and level of awareness in many areas of their lives and communities. Included in the focuses of that renewed awareness are faith, family, cultura, tradition, and community… who we are
The Colores Project events celebrate the spirit, history, and traditions of the Mexican American heritage with the goal of sharing these qualities with people of goodwill throughout an ethnically diverse Colorado demographic.
In December, we will follow up the Latin Jam event with a free Christmas community outreach event called the “Father’s Heart” for families in Rocky Ford and the surrounding area. The event will include a free dinner, a Gospel concert, a children’s activity and Christmas toy give away in association with the U.S.
Thank you for visiting. May the Lord bless you.

This is a youth and children’s interactive exhibit that engages youth in a dynamic and positive fashion and incorporates youth community activity, art therapy, and fun.
The Mural Art Exhibit was first offered in 2003. Over the years, the exhibit’s popularity has maintained its appeal to families because of its positive message and impact to children that participate or to older youth that take part in leadership roles in staging the exhibit. All are visibly moved, while their take away is stimulated creativity and positive motivation.
9th and Railroad Avenue in Rocky Ford, Colorado still has angle parking and no parking meters! Love it! More importantly this is home to a small town bar operation called Len's Tavern. Len and his dad's namesake venue offers a good game of pool, dart tournaments, live band entertainment, good conversation (probably a little Tia Tocha chisme), and a diversion to the cares and woes of small town living. On Sept 18th, 9th and Railroad Avenue will turn into Leonard Avenue as Len's Tavern hosts the Colores Latin Jam SOCO "Beer Garden" and hosts dart and pool tournaments for the guests, bikers, and members of the custom car community who are coming to the Colores Latin Jam SOCO Street Festival.
Activities will take place at Len's Tavern in the venue and in an enclosed beer garden table seating area in front of Len's. Alcohol will not be permitted outside the beer garden enclosure to the car and bike show, kids area, or family activity areas.
La Familia and the Colores Project recognize and acknowledge los dos "Leonards" and thank them for participating in the Colores Latin Jam SOCO. Activities start 12 PM and we will be providing a Sept 18th schedule for Len's Tavern by July 20th.
For immediate help call Mary Jo Aragon at 719-241-4294 or La Familia at 720-671-3151 or email us using the email icon below. Thank you.
The evening event is a separate ticketed concert dance scheduled for the Gobin Building events facility in Rocky Ford and will feature that California Brown Sound with “Souldies” (Chicano Soul and Oldies) artists Pepe Marquez and Krystal Moreno. Then, we go cultura on you with New Mexico music by Jonathan Castillo y Profundo.
Activities are free. The only admission to enjoy this feature is that patrons consume beverages responsibly according to our rules and that we maintain an environment of  goodwill, good spirit, and respect for each other and the families also in the area.  Siempre recuerdan que somos gente y familia!

The Motorcycle or "Biker" community has long been an asset to their communities as the great majority use their love for riding and the comradery fundamental to this pursuit to help and bless others. They come from across the country. They come in all sizes, shapes, and colors and from cities big and small, Those that choose to be a blessing have one thing in common... they all share the same heart for people. Like the "Biker" community, the Custom car and Low Rider culture and car community have provided a beautiful expression of culture, tradition, and investment in the time and painstaking detailed effort they make in creating and restoring classic cars. When they are not creating, displaying, or competing, their expression takes on a different form... giving.
We thank C&M Auto Detail of Rocky Ford for their ground floor effort in organizing the 1st Annual Colores Car Show and B&R Home Remodeling of Pueblo, Bill Leyba and Dale Arellano for organizing the bike show and the run. We will labor to build on their efforts, that it be a source of cultural and community pride to Rocky Ford and to custom car and bike communities across Colorado.
Thank you for supporting this Colores Project event. This will be a show for riders and owners from across Colorado. Nuestra Gente de Nuevo Mexico hasta Wyoming están todos invitados y bienvenidos!  Rocky Ford may be just a small farm town in Southern Colorado... but it embodies the spirit and history of La Gente.
"In the midst of change, one is wise to seek a life balance that looks for and embraces the positive dynamics associated with unfolding change; this while respecting the continuity that values and celebrates familia, comunidad, cultura, and time honored traditions.
Change does not define people... people define people... this is a celebration of La Gente!"
